This calculator uses a fixed 24-hour day. For a working-day count based on an actual number of paid hours per shift, such as an 8-hour day, multiply the day count by the shift length directly rather than by 24.
What does the days-and-hours figure mean?
It splits the same duration into a whole number of days plus the leftover hours, so 30 hours shows as both 1.25 days and as 1 d 6 h, whichever is easier to read for the situation.
