Minutes to Days Calculator calculator

Converts minutes to days, or days to minutes, using the fixed 1,440 minutes per day.

Published 21 August 2026

What this calculator does

A day contains exactly 1,440 minutes (24 hours × 60 minutes), so converting minutes to days is a simple division by that fixed figure, and converting days to minutes reverses it. This calculator handles either direction and also shows the equivalent in hours and seconds.

This conversion comes up whenever a duration is tracked in minutes, such as screen time, a meeting or task log, or a countdown timer, and needs to be understood on a day-by-day scale, or the reverse: a plan stated in days needing to be entered somewhere as minutes.

The formula

FormulaDays = minutes ÷ 1,440 · Minutes = days × 1,440

Divide the number of minutes by 1,440 to get days. To convert the other way, multiply the number of days by 1,440 to get minutes. The hours and seconds figures shown use the same total divided by 60, and multiplied by 60, respectively.

When to use it

Converting a tracked duration into days

Screen-time reports, activity trackers and time logs often total minutes across a period; converting that total to days puts it on a scale that is easier to compare against a target.

Setting a duration in minutes from a day-based plan

A plan stated in days, such as "processed within 3 days", sometimes needs to be entered into a system as a number of minutes; multiplying by 1,440 gives that figure directly.

Checking a large minute count

A raw figure like 25,000 minutes is hard to picture; converting it to days (just over 17 days) makes the scale of the number clear.

Worked examples

Every figure in the tables below is produced by this page’s own calculator at build time, so the numbers and the tool always agree. Select any row to load that scenario.

Questions

Why exactly 1,440 minutes in a day?

A day has 24 hours and each hour has 60 minutes, so 24 × 60 = 1,440. This is a fixed conversion factor, the same every day, with no rounding involved.

How many days is 25,000 minutes?

Just over 17.4 days (25,000 ÷ 1,440 ≈ 17.36 days), which is roughly 17 days and 8.7 hours.

How is this different from the seconds to days calculator?

This page converts minutes to days directly. The seconds to days calculator does the same conversion using seconds and the 86,400-seconds-per-day factor instead.

Does a "day" here mean a full 24-hour period?

Yes. This calculator uses a fixed 24-hour, 1,440-minute day throughout; it does not adjust for daylight saving clock changes, which shift a specific calendar day by an hour in places that observe them.

For the same conversion measured in seconds instead of minutes, see the seconds to days calculator. For a minute total expressed as hours and minutes rather than days, see the hours and seconds converter.
