What this calculator does
A shoe size converter moves a size between the three sizing systems most commonly seen on shoe boxes and size charts: US, UK and EU. Enter a size in any one of the three and the other two are shown alongside it, with a separate men's and women's setting since the same numeric size means a different fit depending on which one is used.

The formula
The converter treats the US size as a common reference point. UK size is US size minus 1 for men's shoes, or minus 2 for women's shoes. EU size is US size plus 33 for men's shoes, or plus 31 for women's shoes. Entering a size in UK or EU sizing first converts it back to the equivalent US size using the same offsets in reverse, then applies both offsets again to show all three.
